Why I Started Bliss:
Bliss Planning+Consulting started as a way for me to creatively assist small business owners specifically female entrepreneurs like myself with effective marketing and branding services. I wanted to cater to a niche market that could benefit from my services without breaking the bank. As a professional marketeer, I also wanted to educate small business owners on the importance of strategic branding and marketing.
Full-Time or Part-Time: Presently I am a part-time freelancer with the hopes of going full-time once I can acquire consistent retainer clients.
Greatest Lesson Learned: Staying true to Bliss while providing clients with the services requested. Also learning as a freelancer, you have to be the right service for the right client. It’s okay to not accept every client if it means lowering your standards or being untrue to your business principles.
Where do I see Bliss in 5 years:
Bliss Planning+Consulting will develop into a creative agency that will continue to provide strategic yet modern branding and consulting services. Bliss will likely employ a team of graphic artists, content writers and virtual assistants. Bliss will move to a traditional office space in Charlotte, NC but will continue to provide services worldwide. Profits will continue to trend upward with annual revenue breaking into 6 figures.
Advice for Freelancers:
Continue to develop, educate yourself and hone your craft. Provide strategic services for you TARGET audience. Be specific in who you are and who your clients should be.
