As we continue to fight the Covid-19 pandemic now more than ever it has become increasingly important that we as creatives find a place where we can create, work and decompress all at once.
As we headed into the New Year our good friends at Belmond Charleston opened their doors to my family for a much needed change in scenery and the experience was nothing short of amazing. As you walk into the doors of The Belmond you instantly feel a surge of creativity springing through your bones as you’re welcomed by beautiful sculptures and the noise of countless business meetings. While Charleston is a relatively quaint town, The Belmond is the entrepreneur’s dream. In fact, during our stay at the Belmond not only was I able to complete multiple RFPs while sitting around the indoor pool I was also able to take countless business meetings while sitting in the designated work area in my room.
I’m not sure about you but as an entrepreneur my biggest challenge this year has been not having the opportunity to go to coffee shops and co-working spaces to work. Instead, I have been “living at work” vs. working from home and Belmond gave me the boost I needed. I live in North Carolina so the drive to Charleston was about 4 hours; however, that 4 hours was worth it when I reflect on how much I was able to accomplish during our 3 month stay.
In fact, if you’re in the Southern part of our state and you’re looking for a place to stay or just a local lobby you can work from and feel inspired doing so, go take a trip to Belmond Charleston and let them know Black Girl Group sent you.
